5 Reasons Why We All Love Bonfire Night!

You have to admit, Britain is a very strange country. Once a year we celebrate a failed attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up our own parliament and King using gunpowder by… blowing up gunpowder. But we wouldn’t have it any other way! Forget America with its 4th of July, we know that Bonfire Night is the real place to be if you want to enjoy fireworks. We hardy Brits don’t wait until a balmy summer’s eve to watch a display, we wait until winter is upon us then bundle up warm to head down to our local park to fight with the whole community to get nearest to the bonfire.

Remember remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot, I see no reason why gunpowder treason, Should ever be forgot.

Here are 5 reasons why we LOVE Bonfire Night!

The clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in… Bonfire Night is not far away! Whether you’re holding your own Bonfire Night party, heading down to a local display or simply watching from a window whilst keeping nice and cosy indoors – we all love watching and hearing stunning firework displays at this time of year. So get your gloves, hats and scarves ready, it’s nearly time!

Toffee apples, hot-dogs, toasted marshmallows, cinder toffee… Bonfire Night is one of the best festivals for food (after Christmas of course)! If your heading off to a display, its almost certain that there will be a huge array of delicious goodies on offer. If your hosting a Bonfire Night party, you’d better make sure that your guests don’t go hungry!

As a child, sparklers are by far the best part about any Bonfire Night gathering, and to be honest, that doesn’t really change when you become an adult! The smoky smell, the mesmerizing sparks, the crackling sounds… and who doesn’t love spelling out their name with the bright streaks of light?

It’s what the whole evening has been leading up to and it never fails to disappoint. Try to get as close to the bonfire as possible for warmth, prepare your neck for the inevitable pain of looking upwards for the next 15 minutes or so and enjoy the display!

The food has been eaten, the sparklers have been lit, and the fireworks are finished – all that’s left to do now is head home for warmth and comfort! Thaw your frozen hands in front of a radiator (or an open fire if you’re lucky), change into your comfiest pajamas and relax. For maximum Bonfire Night comfort, why not take a long, hot bubble bath before bed? At Bathshop321 we stock a massive range of baths perfect to stretch out in, and some even come with whirlpool jets! Why not splash out on a pre-Christmas treat for your home?

Then wake up on November the 6th….

… And feel the panic set in as you realise that it’s only 7 weeks until Christmas!
