Our favourite of this year is the flowery trend of retro; expect to see this for a while as we have been witnessing it everywhere from walls to accessories and even flooring! The wallpaper patterns, inspired by the 1950’s have been officially brought back into the 21^st century, some even in shiny metallic finishes – perfect for any bathroom.

First class designers are pairing up the sweet metallic wallpaper with neutral, yet glassy surfaces and burnished hardware. Offer a little pick-me-up to any space of your home…especially the bathroom with this trendy retro botanical design.

This stylish design is by Rachel Reider is for those who want to add a little colour along with sophistication. This featured wallpaper coupled with accessories of a similar shade is the perfect trend setter.

For others who are a little hesitant to adding large amounts of colour, this slightly more subtle approach by Tilton Fenwick will give your walls the ‘wow’ factor with an elegant symmetrical design.

Those of us who love fashion with a purpose, this retro shelving created by Slovakian designer Veronika Paluchova, is unique, useful, and most importantly, on trend.

If you like DIYing your own retro trends, this example is rather lovely. A little bit of patience, using some small plant cut outs, place creatively in frames and mount on the wall, this is an excellent way to introduce natural themes into any room. Combine this with some plants placed in an accent coloured vase, and there you have it, a homemade retro trend in a matter of minutes.
